Cassie, is a beautiful 5-year-old Cane Corso who has been loved in one home since she was a puppy. True to her breed, she can be a little unsure of strangers at first, but once she knows you, she’s incredibly affectionate and loyal.

When Cassie came into rescue, she was heavily pregnant. Sadly, she had to give birth in a brand-new environment with people she didn’t know or trust, which was understandably stressful for her. During this time, her protective instincts kicked in and she showed some aggression around her puppies. This behaviour was very much linked to the circumstances she was frightened, vulnerable, and determined to protect her babies.

Now that her pups are older, Cassie is back to her loving, gentle self. She enjoys affection, loves cuddles, and is gradually spending more time relaxing away from her litter. We are taking things at her pace, and she’s showing every day what a sweet girl she really is.

Cassie will need to be spayed and fully assessed once her puppies are independent, so she isn’t quite ready to leave just yet. However, we would love to start looking for her forever family now so she has the best future waiting for her.

Cassie has previously lived happily with other dogs, but we will be looking for a home without children. She hasn’t been cat-tested.
